On Monday I attended my first class with Japanese people.
It was terrifying! The teacher was an old grumpy Japanese dude..
He did not looked pleased that us exchange students were there.
And also there were 2nd year ppl there (and of course 1st years).
The classroom was too smal to room us all, so he sent all the 2nd year ppl
away. (Not quite sure why) And then he turns to us (around 11 exchange students including me)
and go yapping about that this will be about old kanji and there is no point
in us being there and stuff.. And he was maybe going on about this for 15 minuttes
before even starting class.. Then he begins with handling us a test!
Like I wasn't scared enough as it was!!
I understood maybe 1 of the questions there, and that was it! lol..
Then he started with asking people about the answers.
Then, when that person answered wrong, then he went to the
person sitting behind him.
And the Japanese people had no clue how to answere it either.. lol..
and everytime someone answered wrong, the teacher made fun of the
person.. It was horrible..
At the end I kinda understood how to answer the question, and the class
seemed interessting, but no way in hell am I taking that class!! haha
Luckly I don't need to take that class either.. I have already enough
classes filled up on my schedule.. But there is 3 extra classes that I
can attend to if I want to.. However I think it will be to much work for me.
The second class on Monday was some society class.. This was also with
Japanese people. Most of it I did not understand, but I did understand a lot. :D
At the beginning the teacher was talking about the earthquake and stuff, and we had
5minuttes first sitting quietly at our desk, then 1 minutt standing giving our respects to
all those who is affected by these horrible events that has happened last month..
After some introductions of all the exchange students, we were handed out
"prayer of Japan". It was 2 papers filled of events that had happened. Kids telling
their parents they want to sell their Nintendo DS to help out the people and stuff.
We got a couple of minuttes to read through them all.. I did understand some of them,
despite most of the kanji were impossible to read because the print was so smal and
unreadable even for Japanese ppl. :p
Then the teacher got people in the class to pick out one of the small text and read it
aloud to the teacher. The first girl who spoke, spoke very low, so I wondered what was
wrong, then I realized she was crying while she was speaking.. Then I started crying too..
After that the teacher only choose guys to read aloud..
I don't think I will attend that class either, even though it seemed interessting, but I think
it will be too difficult for me to write the end report for it when I understand maybe 30%
what is happening.
Today I had 2 classes with Japanese with Oga sensei. And we have 1 Japanese guy in our
class. He is a 4th year and I guess he want's to become a teacher, so he is just sitting there
watching how the teacher teach.
In my class it's Lisa (Alaska), Anastasya and Angela (Russia). Apparently the people at school
had handed Christine the wrong schedule, she was supposed to take classes with us. Haha
(Ho andra frå Russland veit eg ikkje heilt koffor er i klassen min pga ho var på den meir avangserte
gruppo i fjor, men eg tippe ho var ikkje så flink som eg trudde. :P )
Then we had to wait 3 hours for the scheduled meeting we had. But I guess it won't be so
bad later when we have homework and stuff to do in those hours..
Tomorrow I think I'm attending classes together with Japanese people that is obligatory, but
I'm not sure.. Will update later..
